Which digital camera brand is right for me?

Canon is my favorite brand. MP shouldn't be the most important aspect you choose, as any camera can take good pics if it is set on the right settings. The canon powershot series are all easy to use and have a little bit more advanced options available. And they are around your price range. If you don't like them, then a Nikon would be my second choice.
