How can nurses help patients, enable and empower depressed patients?

As nurses, we are all for health promotion. How do we help to enable and further our patients, allowing them to complete tasks which they once thought as impossible. In order for the patient to have a full understanding of their lifes and needs, we need to have this knowledge first! Help to provide them with reason an d opportunistic moments!!
