I am writing a horror story and would like your opinion on something?

Somewhere between a third and a quarter of the book would be a good length for your introduction, as long as your characterisation is strong enough to carry it. I would suggest you try to include some foreshadowing of what will happen later in the story, but don't be obvious about it. Subtle hints are enough.
