What;s the best software for recoding and burning DVDs? Nero's not doing too well for me?

Hey dudes, hope you're well. I've been trying to burn DVD rips of AVI files back to DVD, my output from Nero is sometimes jerky, it's frustrating. Can anybody recommend an alternative?
