How many native americans are left?

We all know that the US gov't genocided tens of millions of indians. Are they nearly extinct? How many are left? Are they pissed that when it comes to political correctness, they don't count at all? meaning it's not racist to make fun of indians and totally $.hit on them (according to every tv show i've ever watched... and sports team logos)
