Has anyone cracked the code to GOOD homemade egg drop soup?

I have tried may recipes and have made countless attempts to recreate the yummy concoction I get from Chinese restaurants, all of them tasting like nothing more than chicken soup. YUCK. Each recipe I've found is essentially like all the others and all are chicken broth based. Now I'm not saying that there isn't some chicken broth in the restaurant soups, but they sure don't taste like chicken soup. Like I say, I've tried tens of recipes and none have come close to the delicate soup I love. People seem to be oblivious to the fact that the recipes don't measure up, people give good reviews but I know it's not just me. Those folks have the wool over their eyes.
