Compression check on seadoo jetski?

i was wondering on a 717 rotax seadoo ski i pulled the carbs off and pulled both spark plugs out i put the compression gauge on one and got nothing same on the other cyl..i was wondering if that was the way it was b/c of the rotax valve or i needed to put the other spark plug in to get a reading??
